| what should i buy.......and more importantly what should i AVOID......whats the law these days on mags over 10 rds? they have to be manufactured before the ban date? and you can rebuild prebans correct? I actually prefer 10 rounders for plinking but would like some 30's for SHTF scenarios. Any decrease in reliabilty with the higher capacity mags? what is a "good" price on 30/20/10 rounders? and last but not least do u guys have a favorite source for purchasing your mags? |

I just bought two new 30 round GI mags from CDNN for $29.99. They are mfg by Parsons in 1985, and have the black followers. I think I'm going to order a couple more. If I understand the issue correctly, I should go ahead and get the green followers and replace the black ones. Is that correct? Thanks |

I personally have not replaced my followers. Nearly all of them (about 40) are black and I have not had any problems thus far. It is on the long list of things to do. [:D] WSAR15 - If it isn't in the mag FAQ, I wouldn't buy it. I've never heard of Victor, but I bet Troy has. He wrote the mag FAQ and you might want to email him. In my short (less than a year) of AR ownership - I have to agree with these guys - go with the USGI 30 round aluminum mags, and don't look back. I bought green followers from CDNN, and installed them, but it was just preventative maintenance, because the black ones worked OK. |

i have one ar and 6 30 rounders currently 3 are usgi niw center industries 3 are british royal ordnance ar15/sa80s i shoot with the british and keep my usgi in the wrap. the royal ordnance are great, quality mag that has yet to malfunction on me and they're cheap too. less than 20 bucks a piece from ammoman. |
| where can i find CDNN?????? also i found bushmaster mags listed in the faq but there was no opinion on their quality? did i miss something in the faq? are factory bushmaster brand mags a high quality mag? the 10 rounder that came with my bushy seems to be of extremly good quality..... thanks. |
