Hi all!

I am doing my first AR build and would appreciate everyone's suggestions on options!

I have the following items:

https://www.ucwrg.com/materiel/discontinuedarchived-products/23/limited-edition-mega-receiver/ (Lower)
https://www.ucwrg.com/materiel/upper-receivers/15/forged-upper-receiver/ (Upper)

I would like to use the following Item:

http://fostechoutdoors.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=12

All the rest is well, up for grabs! I have never built an AR before. For instance, if I purchased the DefendAR, would I get the CARBINE version or not? What is the difference between a Carbine AR stock and a Normal one? Which trigger assembly is good? What is the difference between a skelletonized trigger and a none skelletonized one?

Are these good barrels?

http://phase5tactical.com/products/weapon-systems/4140-cqc-75-pistol-barrel-

Is this company good?

http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop%2Fdetail&product_id=580

Anyone feel like tossing out suggestions to a noob that wants to build a nice shorty AR? Suggestions appreciated, knowledge is priceless.

Thanks all!

I'm guessing you are planing to sbr this gun.
Cause that stock plus a 7.5 in barrel equals illegal.

I can help a little, if you ever plan on using a suppressor,
Do NOT use a 7" barrel. I found this out the hard way.
The simple reason why is no company will warranty it.
Better to go with a 10"

I think Huntertown covers their 5.56 can with any length barrel.

Ya  I might have jumped the gun when I said " no"
Company does, I meant YHM, gemtec,AAC, etc.
There are so many people making them I don't keep up.
For the OP. if you ever plan on using one research it first
, I found out after the fact. With that said I've shot 500rnd through
Mine with no problems

Yeah, this will be an SBR rifle. It is already going through the process. Illegal is a relative term, I am not asking people to give me information on illegal stuff, I am asking people for help like Trimdad here letting me know about the silencer and the 7.5. I had thought about adding a suppressor. I have an AAC .308 that can also work on a .223 (with the proper QD). But if they don't support it on that barrel then I might consider a longer one or a company that does, ie Huntertown. That is someone I can look into and helpful.

What I am curious about is barrels, attachments, the DefendarAR stock, is the only difference of the Carbine stock the size of the recoil spring and the tube?

Who makes good trigger assemblies?

That kind of stuff is what I am looking for. I have built my H&K G3, but not an AR, triggers are different, uppers are different, etc...

Thanks all.
