I'm setting out on my first build.  So far I have a Spikes lower (in hand), Spikes enhanced LPK (in shipment now), and Magpul mil spec MOE stock kit with mil spec tube, spring, buffer, etc. included (just ordered).  I plan to asseble the lower and start shopping for my upper parts right after that.

So, my question is - is there such a thing as an AR tool kit with the basic essentials?  Drift pin punches, roll pin punches, multi wrench or individual castle and bbl nut wrenches, etc?  I've found several threads on the tools needed or recommended to for a build, but it would be nice if there was a "one stop shop" for a complet kit.  Also, is there a recommendation on multi wrenches vs individual wrenches?  Is it better to just buy the individual wrenches or does the multi wrench work well?

Oh, and like many others have reported, BRD sets in quick...  I haven't even assembled this lower yet and I'm already planning 2nd and 3rd builds!

Upper block kit an lower block kit if your going to build more than one but to hole the lower you can use a old mag or at frist I used an old 20 round mag filled up with candle gel to keep it formed and cusioned when in the clamp..... Then since I was going to build more I invested in Model 1 clam shell fixture and also their mag block.....

Thanks for the feedback guys.  So it sounds like there's not really a "kit" that comes with the punches (roll and drift pin), wrenches, etc. all in one?  The kit from SAW in the first reply looks nice, but $225 is a bit steep for what I need it for.  So is there any preference in getting a mulit wrench for bbl nuts and castle nuts or buying the indivudual wrenches?

Unless you'll be doing lot of tweaking or upper barrel changes, no need to get a multi-tool wrench.  The lower build mainly uses hammer, punch, allen wrench, screwdriver and the castle wrench tool.  Didn't want to spend too much on tools.

Well there's this but it's listed as out of stock and you will still need regular pin punches, and a hammer if you dont have one...

of course you don't really need a vise block

Best barrel nut wrench you'll ever buy. Guntec
The tiny pic doesn't do it justice, you won't be dissapointed with this wrench.
