What would be the main cause for the bolt, going forward, picking up a round but then stopping, stuck over the mag and not going all the way into battery?
I'm not sure I'm posing the question correctly. Shooting the AR, the bolt comes forward, and kind of rides up over the mag and stopping, stuck. I'm thinking mag problem, this happend twice in 270 rounds in a brand new AR (BCM upper, BCM BCG, Rock River lower). |
| Can you give us more detail. Sounds like either you have a bad mag or maybe something you can't see inside the bolt locking lugs of the chamber keeping the bolt from seating. What kind of mag are you running, when's the last time you cleaned your weapon, how's the gas tube alignment? |

What kind of mag are you running, when's the last time you cleaned your weapon, how's the gas tube alignment? I'm posting for a relative, I wasn't present when he shot it. He shot 270 rounds and this occured once in a 20 rounder, and once in a 30 rounder; he said the 30 rounder was obviously flawed, the 20 rounder looks OK. The gun is brand new, he put 3 in 1 oil on it when breaking it in, he's gonna soak it in Breakfree now. The gun overall performed well, just these two glitches in 270 rounds of Federal XM193. I'm no expert on the AR although I own ARs, my only theory for this is bad mags. |

I had a issue where the round caught the ramps because they werent aligned and the bolt ran over top of round. some pics would be helpful |
