It's been several years since I shot action 3-gun and I'm wanting to get back into it.

The problem is I used to shoot iron sights on my AR-15 and my eyes aren't what they used to be.

Although I've never used one I'm considering going to an EOTech holographic sight with the 3x magnifier on a side flip mount which should be pretty good for both close range and medium range.

Most of our local matches the longest shots are out to about 200 yards.

Do any of you have any comments, experience or advice on this system or is something else a better option?

Sounds like a great setup.

The Eo + magnifier is a versatile setup that should do well for you.

Give it a try before you buy though as astigmatisms can give major problems with the reticle. All dot sighs suffer from this but the Eo is worse than most.

If the reticle looks a bit speckly, that's okay. If it's heavily blurred even with the brightness down and your focus on the target then it's not for you.

0-200 I think it is an awesome setup.  as posted before just make sure you look through the reticule before you purchase.  eotech has pixalation to it if you stare at the reticule itself as opposed to looking past it.  most ajust to to it some however don't very well.  aimpoint has more a normal led driven dot and some have less issue.  I can shoot both but I don't really have any eye issues.

I have read that the leupold CQ/T is very popular in these as well I looked at it but ended up with aimpoint and mag.  the CQ/T has an etched reticule and I wanted to try a nice red dot sight with reticule that was always on target.
