I have a SP5 lower on pre-order with them now. Just sent off an email requesting a refund or conversion into pre-order for this cassette. This is my grail FRT for the mp5 platform

Yea they refunded me quickly.

I may go with a AL lower and arcfire V2 with HK selectors cause G$ trigger, but I what to see more of the HK trigger pack before any decisions.

ASD Customer Service is very good...you would think there would be an option to switch an existing order to a pre-order with the V2 and HK Selectors...

Wonder if it’s still the classic mp5 trigger pull. I’d probably have my sp5 lower laser engraved with additional pictograms for this thing. Well done ASD and S3igu2. God Bless ya.

The pull weight has been cleaned up, its around 4 to 6 pounds and feels more like a mil spec ar15 FCG, the selector detent setup is also now much better witch imo feels like a AR15 selector in terms of detent positions.

I just do not like the looks of the lowers to make a MP5 take AR grips and triggers.
While they allow the use of a FRT, I feel it completely kills the classic MP5 look/lines.
I am glad they are making these.

The various AR FCG lowers worked but were less than ideal. The slip trip, sometimes hammer needs slight modification, needing to add a buffer in K guns... all variables you had to be concerned with. A fully drop in, no slip trip needed setup is what I personally have been waiting for so I'm very excited for this.

Yes, because ARHK wasn't really built with any limitations due to the size of the MP5 drop in footprint all the parts are able to be extremely durable and purpose built for this exact assembly, for example all the FCG and ARC parts are dedicated for ARHK meaning they aren't just modified to work. Also the ARHK is even higher leverage then the super safety so the active reset mode will be very reliable even with alot of pressure on the trigger.

It will be serviceable and I'm confident its the most durable trigger reset device out there by far due to the fact it was built from the ground up to survive 1000s of rounds of 308 in a g3.

Yes already been confirmed.

From what he posted it'll work in almost any HK roller delayed gun design. He confirmed no on the 7.62x39 guns and that it hasn't been tested in the 21 yet.

The roller delayed guns all use essentially the same trigger pack, just different ejectors, which he's stated can be swapped in unmodified.

So what clone on the market right now is the best "bang for the buck"?
The best balance between quality and price.
I am looking for the standard style MP5, not the short K model.
I think it is called the MP5-A2.
Doing a quick 60 second google search, basically the century AP5-N. Are these worth a shit?

I like the Century imported MKE Guns.

I have two of the MKE guns (AP5 series), a full size and an SD. Both run like champs. Some of the early guns had issues but the recent ones seem gtg.
I have not had to replace the ejectors or extractors in my guns, many will recommend this but I'd say shoot it first.
The other gun I have is a Pakistani POF reverse stretch. Runs great but I'm at least the 3rd owner, so who knows what was done to it before.

I ran 300 rounds through my AP5-P SBR with my Wolfman on it today without a single malfunction. I’ve put an 80 degree locking piece in and headspaced the bolt with HK rollers. Full AS Designs lower with ARC Fire and SSA-E trigger. You can’t feel the trigger reset when live firing. It ate American Eagle 147’s, HST 147’s, Ranger 147’s without issue. Didn’t want to completely mag dump it the first time out at the indoor range and put rounds in the ceiling. Waiting on my approval for my Strake 9.

AS Designs complete lower with Geissele SD-E trigger
80 degree locking piece
509T-GR X2
B&T pic rail
Trijicon mount
B&T stock
Phase 5 short grip
MI rail
Minidot Rail Scales
Dead Air Wolfman on a 3 lug

I'm over 5000 rounds on my Zenith MKE gun. The AP5 is an MKE gun, Century is the importer. Mine runs flawless, even with the SS. It's a solid gun.

I'm wildly behind on how HK parts interchange, so I'll just go on what I have.

I have a PTR91, that came with a Navy polymer lower. Last year I installed a steel SEF lower.

Will I be able to install this ARHK device in one of these lowers, and have it work? Assuming I have the relevant AS Designs parts, the ejector, all that.

Then secondly, would I be able to use the ARHK in that same lower in an MP5 clone, but with a 9mm ejector? I don't have an MP5 yet. Is the ejector the only caliber specific part?

Please do correct me if I'm off base, I'm way out of my depth with HK guns in comparison to ARs.

You can use the MP5 housing on a G3, but you cannot use a G3 housing on the MP5 unless you cut it.  It’s a 2 pin rear vs 1 pin rear housing.

Change the ejector and with a normal 9X series gun you’re golden.

You may need to change hammer springs *
Personally I have a .308 hammer spring installed and it works for all calibers just fine.

When you refer to a pin, is that the pin that would be at the bottom front of the lower? My SEF lower does not have a clip and pin.

It’s referring to the pins at the back of the housing, where the stock attaches.

Yes where stock attaches.  Take a look at my edit as well on the hammer spring.

Horrible artwork but here are the two

You can cut the back off of the g3 to fit MP5/HK53

Note: mp5 is a picto housing and the g3 is an sef.  Normal 9X series guns will not interchange between the two.  Different geometry.  I have no idea what sorcery ASD will come up with but they may figure something out?  For it to drop into factory German housings there may have to be two different versions…?…

When you refer to a pin, is that the pin that would be at the bottom front of the lower? My SEF lower does not have a clip and pin.

It’s referring to the pins at the back of the housing, where the stock attaches.

Oh I see. Okay.

This is the polymer lower that came with my PTR91. It looks identical to this lower that's advertised for a PTR 9mm. Does PTR use a common lower for both calibers?

No idea on PTR but see the above German housings.  For the MP5 it has that “L” cut not squared off with a hole.  Either will work

I prefer the OG German design, never had a problem popping the pin even with gloves.  Some of the squared with holes I’ve seen guys wish they had a hammer with them at times lol
