| I bought an ATI AR-15 Omni Hybrid and as I was removing the flash hider, the barrell twisted. I know that most uppers are notched and that the barrell has a tooth that fits inside the notch on the upper to prevent twisting. Are ATI Omni Hybrid AR's not made the same way? |

Get a hold of them, I think they have an account for the mfg's forum, too. That sounds pretty sketchy. It's quite common. You never want to crank on a muzzle device without a barrel vise. He likely sheered the index pin and the barrel and extension rotated. OP look at your feed ramps in the upper - they'll probably be crooked now (no longer align with the barrel extension) |
| I had an ATI HD16 do the same thing to me. The barrel twisted in the extension. I made a noob mistake. Figured that if I held the gun with one hand and turned the flashider off with a short open end wrench, there wouldn't be enough torque to hurt anything. That barrel spun off so I easy I couldn't believe it. |
