Does anyone have experience with the ATN line.  specifically this scope.
www.opticsplanet.net/atnrifprof61.html

i'm guessing that would look HUGE on my AR.  I'd probably swap scopes with my savage 10fp.
i'm doing the never ending scope dance trying to figure out what scope i want for my AR or for my 10fp and put my VX II on my AR and put a new one on my other one.

i'm lookin at spending $450 tops on the scope.  Specs would be mildot, turrets, and at least 10x variable.

of course i'm looking at the Super Sniper also but i'm not sure if i would like the straight 10x.

whats the hive got to say on this one?

AVOID the ATN, is my advice, there are better choices, ya named one, mine (choices that is)are all LEUPOLD.

i take it ATN has a rep of not having the quality most expect.

ok. scratch ATN.

i want to go with Leupold but damn they get spendy real fast.

the caps on this scope i am guessing hide the finger adjustable target turrets?

damn i wish they would make a variable super sniper.  besides XOTIC.

That's an excellent choice, IMO.

But then I'm severly prejudiced toward Leupold scopes.

Run don't walk away from the ATN scope...what an udder piece of overpriced trash.

I'm partial to the loopy scopes but some of the upper end Burris are nice as well.

i bought this:

with the M4 rings.

OUCH.  but should be worth it.

That ATN scope is not all bad. It is big and heavy enough to work as an improvised weapon

That would be INSANE on an AR-15.

I had a 6-24x 50mm  on a 24" Vmatch and it was too much.  I then put a 10x Super Sniper M on it, and that was still a bit much.   4-14-42mm would be the absolute MAX I would ever consider.

I don't think you need more than 6X on an AR-15, given it's range.   Now if you are benchrest shooting - well, why are you using an AR?

So what is the VX II?

my VXII is 4x12x40 with the fine duplex.
