I am planning buying my first AR. I have contacted Windham but they are so busy it may be quite awhile before they can answer.
Can Windham Weaponry's Carbon model be fitted with aftermarket FDE forearms, butt stocks and pistol grips?
Thank-you for your time and effort!
Kind Regards,

I would definitely go a different route than Carbon receivers. Friend had one and the heat and cold affected it pretty severely. As in it wouldn't cycle. This has nothing to do with Windham. They build solid rifles. Just a suggestion. Welcome to the disease.

Do yourself a favor and research carbon fiber receivers before you buy. There are too many horror stories to list. No reason to buy one with today's prices on mil spec.

If you are really set on Windham Weaponry, cool. They make a nice rifle. That being said; GET AN ALUMINUM RECEIVER AR-15!!! From what I have seen with reviews (video and textural), Windham's CF receivers are far better engineered than other manufacturers in the past, but still, I'd suggest sticking with aluminum for the sake of durability and equipment life. Good luck, and keep us posted

Sage advice being given here, re: aluminum>carbon fiber.

Don't buy the carbon model. You can get ml spec ARs for under $800 right now.

One more...

If you want it to work, don't buy carbon

If you want carbon at some point, that's cool. But I would not want my first or only rifle to be carbon.....

Good guys do not let others buy carbon receivers. There are a bunch of good guys here giving good advice. DO NOT buy a carbon receiver.
