Please pardon if this offends but my project is a bit different than most, if not all the others on this site. My project is building one of each; M16A1, M16A2, and M4A1 paintball guns A web site to document the project is at: todd.mainecav.org/paintball/m16 I want these things to be as authentic as I can manage and I'm using real parts where I can. The receivers, due to cost and legal issues come from airsoft BB guns. Stocks, handguards, grips, slings, etc are all actual parts. Some parts, like end caps, front sights and flash hiders have to be made or adapted for the .68 caliber barrel. There's a couple of parts I'm still hunting for: A non-functioning 20 round magazine for the A1. 2 non-functioning 30 mags - can just the shell be sent to Maryland? A proper A1 butt stock with the swiveling sling ring. Like many here, I'm a history buff and a fan of the Black Rifle and it's derivatives but owning one just isn't an option right now. This project gives me something of an outlet, just as playing paintball is an outlet. I've been visiting the site for some time now, thoroughly enjoying all the information and images, especially in the "Retro" threads. Thanks Jerry Todd mainecav.org |
| Have you tried the Equipment Exchange on this site? That would probably be your best bet to get a decent price and also find someone willing to disassemble the mags to send you just the shell (I have no idea as to any legalities in doing so, I'm just speaking logistically). |
