| A friend of mine has a Colt Match H-bar 20 inch. His complaint is he has to adjust the rear sight all the way to the right side to hit the target . He is shooting 55 grain Rem . green box . I have not shot the gun but am going to . Ammo I realize should not matter . He got the gun used and the round count is unknown . Thanks for any ideas |

No Colt left the factory messed up like that.
If he got it used, God only knows what someone did to it. The barrel could be rotated, the front sight could be rotated, the barrel could be bent, the muzzle could be damaged, a muzzle brake could be crooked and he's getting bullet strikes on it, could be just about anything. One reason some guns get sold is because they're screwed up and the screwer is dumping it. If it's shooting that far off, start looking for something damaged or screwed up, or take it to a gunsmith. |

Thanks for any ideas If A-post front sight base, TM9 manual describes a test for FSB alignment - chapter 3-10, page 3-42. Usually, the cause is a barrel slipped in the receiver when installed; if not a pinned FSB, could be misalignment of the block. If an aftermarket handguard (1913 rail), could be misalignment. Thirteen clicks from center is the mil-standard for windage adjustment. HTH. |

Sorry but any and every company sends out a bad item sooner or later. If your friend is able to zero the rifle but has to go all the way to the side I'm betting there is just a little more slop in the index channel in the upper. You could probably take off the barrel nut and put a shim in the channel to keep it from rotating while the but is reinstalled. |
