I have a Pre-ban "Sporter Competition H-Bar" 1/9 twist. I have desided to start enjoying it more. I have fired about 500 rounds of assorted ammo thru it, trying to find the most accurate. I have no problems shooting my other firearms well. (Only limited to the weapons limits). The best ammo I have found so far is "Black Hills" 69 GR Matchking HP, I'm shooting a 7/8 group at 50 yards. I want to target and varmit shoot with it. Is there something that may work better, that I can buy over the counter.  PS. I have a new trigger that work great and a Leupold 4.5x14 on it.

If your doing target/precision shooting, I'd buy a good 2 stage trigger and more practice ammo.

I too was on a quest for accuracy as you can see on my signature below. I found any surplus ammo (FMJ stuff) to be woefully inaccurate IMHO. Blackhills bluebox match grade was about the best factory ammunition I found, BUT...

The holy grail for the two rifles we shoot was HAND LOADING!!

55 and 60 gr Hornaday V-Max CCI or Winchester primers with H-335 powder...

HOLY CRAP! Our paper went from looking like you threw a handful of rocks at it, to VERY nice tight groups (all sandbagged of course).

<1.00"@ 100m and around 2" @ 200m

Both rifles (mine and my sons) shoot almost exactly the same...

+1 Handloading is the key to tight groups.  Many rifles are capable of much more than we feed them.
