Has anyone else had a problem with sliding an Ace skeleton stock over a pristine, well lubed buffer tube? I have made two attempts to get this thing on and failed miserably both times. First time I tried it I was able to get it halfway on and it bound up but I was able to tap it back off with a rubber mallet. I then should have just given up and quit while I was ahead. The second determined but fruitless try I was able to get it three quarters of the way and it bound so badly that I had to remove my buffer tube from the lower and now have to purchase a new buffer tube to put the old A2 stock back on because I can't get the bugger to go either way without damage. What a frustrating evening!

I do but I wound up taking the the whole thing down to my local smithy and he, after an hour long battle did manage to get the thing installed. He said the tube had a slight aberation but he fixed it and all is well once again. I guess the buffer tube wasn't as pristine as I had originally thought. Thanks for responding to my post. |
| I ran into this problem on my 9mm OLY. I replaced the A2 but stock with the ACE. I got the ACE stock down to about an inch from being all the home. There was some type of ridge or ring on the buffer tube. I could have taken the ridge down but I got a new buffer tube and the stock went right on no problem. |
