Took my fairly new LMT upper with Adams Arms piston kit to the range , unfortunately  it was windy and around 20 degrees , i also forgot my glasses .I recently installed a new carry handle and daniel defence front sight and i was using the original LMT carrier with the supplied AA solid key. Ammo was SA 55 gr and Privi green tip 62 gr . I shot around 70 rounds and had no malfuntions, even without my glasses and a fuzzy front sight post i was able to keep the rounds in a 1-2 inch pattern at 50 yards. My ejection pattern was around 1 to 2 oclock  and it didnt even dawn on me to try the lower gas position. I guess i was just happy to get it sighted in somewhat and test the function of the kit. All the piston parts had a lite coat of CLP and i was surprised to find that most of the gas plug still had oil on it . Clean up was quick with just a wipe down with a rag, I was expecting more carbon build up around the gas block but it was just a dusting for 70 rounds. My father was standing by and noticied only a slight gas vapor from the front block when i fired ,again i thought there would be more "smoke ". As far as wear , the rear bolt carrier showed a 1/4 inch  sliver of shiney metal on the rear round edge and the(VLTOR) buffer showed a corresponding wear mark but it was so small and thin it was more of a rub than gouging. The cam pin did show a similar rub mark near the cam pin releif in the receiver that produced a few slivers of aluminum but it didnt get any worse but i'll keep an eye on it.The lower gas setting may have prevented this but its just a guess.  Overall im very happy , everthing stayed tight and functioned great.

I have been running the standard carrier because i too wanted to see how it would preform. I have yet to see any wear in my buffer tube and i have around 600 rounds through it. So far i love my adams arms piston.
