As I'm considering which stock to add on my first build project, are there any stocks that come stock, or are easily added to, so that I can attach a sling? And, up front, what's the preferred way to attach sling? I'm going to have a 4 rail 10" FF HG over a low pro gas block on a 16" barrel. Do I look for a sling attachment for the bottom rail? |

The sling is a very personal choice. Most people don't like the sling mounted on the bottom of the rifle, though. Look through this thread for some ideas, see if any strike you as ideal. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=19&t=286834 Personally, I like the IDF sling and use it on all my guns now. I hate three point and single point slings, which are probably the most popular right now. It's all about personal preference |
I'll second the motion on the IDF sling. It actually uses clips as one would expect on a gym bag, which makes it really easy to swap between weapons. I use one between one of my ARs and an AK-imagine the irony, especially from a Jewish guy. The next sling I get will be the Viking Tactics/LaRue sling for an upcoming build. Something to consider, 3pt slings can cause stoppages for lefties. |
