| If I wanted to add optics like a Aimpoint PRO to my A2 upper what mount would I need to get? |
|
Do you want it carry handle mounted (up high) or gooseneck (out front)?
Personally my preference on an M16 would be a goodseneck, but a carry handle on a carbine. Not sure I could even articulate why I feel that way very well, I'm sure it has something to do with balance... but there it is. For a gooseneck M16 mount, Aimpoint has a purpose designed mount for exactly that, and it would be my first choice. For a carry handle mount, I'd get a good carry handle rail mount like the (don't hurt me!) ARMS, and an ultra low ring for the Aimpoint. ~Augee |

Here is an ML3 on an ARMS rail with a Burris Xtreme low ring. It is on an A1 receiver but you get the idea. The shadows mess up this pic but there is barely 1/8" of space between the rail and the Aimpoint with the Burris low ring. http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/9912/a1aimpoint.jpg How do you like this setup? ). (The ARMS company's ass hattery aside) The ARMS one is nice and has the ability to add an upper rail too (or at least the older ones did).
