OK I put together my J&T Kit.  It was lots of fun!

Except now I am waiting for a pistol grip and a spring, then I'll be ready to rock and roll.

Before I rock and roll, though, I'm wondering if you guys clean/lubricate your rifles before firing for the first time?

Also, is there a concensus on proper break-in procedures?  I remember reading people saying you shoot one round, clean the barrel, shoot two rounds....  But to me, this sounds like an old tradition that doesn't have any basis in reality, but what do I know?  Comments?

Yes, inside and out.

Take it to the range and shoot. Clean it when you get home.

Ditto on what notack said.  You should always clean and lube a new gun before you take it out and shoot it.  Then go and shoot it.
