Is there any value in keeping an AimPoint 5000 with 3MOA dot? The company said the model is no longer made. It's not as big as the Mil-spec models, but the same red dot and variable brightness. There's no cable between the adj. knobs.

Is anyone familiar with it's faults/advantages?

Can't remember when I bought it, from Gander Mountain, I think. Probably just leave it on a Ruger PC-9 I'm selling.

Well, they were a good dot sight in the early 90's, but are somewhat past their prime.  I had one and it was nowhere near bright enough in full sunlight, but this was not the "XD" version which came out immediately after I bought mine.

If you sell it with the gun, you will probably add no value at all to the deal, so I'd keep it and put it on a .22 or something.

Thanks for advice. It is a XD version, but I'll still keep it for the reasons you stated. Appreciate it.
