Just looking at the specs of this optic and I don't understand why Aimpoint is bothering to make it.

Same price point as the PRO; but with 1 year of battery life instead of 3, worse mount, and it doesn't even come with lens covers. Also not night vision compatible; but that won't matter for the vast majority of people.

Why would anyone buy it over the PRO?

Good question. I don't get it either. When Aimpoint announced this, I thought it would hit the shelves at a much lower price point than what it has. At just under 400 clams, it makes no sense.

i bet the PRO will get "updated" and cost a lot more.

it needs to be $250, and it will sell.

Yeah I even saw it "on sale" and it was still too expensive. The only thing I can think of is like others mentioned, there is prob going to be a new PRO.

This.

I just bought a Holosun (T1ish clone) with an AR riser on Amazon for $150 to replace the PRO on my AR pistol, it looks VERY promising for the money.

Lower battery life and worse mount...

I think $200 would be the best price.
I've wondered the same thing;
Why?
