Hello-
I was looking into purchasing a CompM4 or M4s, and already am aware of the features and high quality of this optic. While on the Aimpoint website I also noticed the CompC3 model, and the price is about $200 less than the M4. The specs look VERY similar. The main differences I see are that the C3 is not NV compatible, and has a different battery type. The battery life and all other features appear similar. The CompC3 is 0.2" longer...no big deal. CompM4 CompC3 So, what's your opinion? Are there other differences I am not seeing? Have you experienced using BOTH of these optics? If so, what was your impression? Can you justify the extra $200 for the M4? Background: This is for a Stag Arms 16" M4 style. I am not military or a LEO. I do not intend to ever buy night vision goggles, but should I ever become that rich I can probably afford to replace my optic. =) I just want a quality red dot with great battery life. Thanks in advance for your thoughts! -Brad |

If you are on a budget, get the C3. It can actually be had for about $300 less than the M4.
SWFA C3 Combo Kit This is a great deal. Good luck. |

The nice thing about the CompM4 is the AA battery. Still, the M3 will get the same job done for less; you just need to look a bit more when the battery finally does die.
I might also recommend a MicroH1- smaller, lighter, uses a CR2032 cell (a very common button cell). I have a Micro T-1 and a CompM4 and honestly, the Micro is every bit as good (even if it doesn't look quite as cool on the rifle). |
