I haven't ever used an Aimpoint before, and somebody offered to trade me 2 of these (new) for an AR-15 that I am letting go in order to build a different AR-15.
My questions about this Aimpoint are: Is this a desirable Aimpoint? How hard would this be to sell (because I need cash to build a new AR..)? What is the reasonable fair, quickish to sell price for one of these new? Didn't have any idea where to post this question except here, and I have faith that somebody here could help me out. I am always leery about trading, I usually always always want just cash. Thanks, hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! |
| The Comp M4 isn't desirable in the sense that its rare, but people will always be looking to buy them. They're great optics, I loved my M4S. Durability and battery life for years. Wouldn't think you would have a hard time selling them. Guess the real question would be: what type of rifle you would be trading, and is it worth the extra time and effort on your end to sell both the optics instead of just selling the rifle for cash? |

My opinion of course I would approach a trade of two NEW Aimpoint Comp M4's with caution. Mainly because of the amount of fakes out there. Not saying the person who wants to trade is this type, they could very well be authentic. The very least I would do before considering taking them in trade, is, get the serial numbers off each optic. Contact Aimpoint. Let them tell you, just for assurance. Pictures and knowing what to look for in a clone speak for what you're considering Personally, if I had a buyer for the rifle in cash, sell it. The Comp M4's are liked by many out there. I have one myself. I also agree with others comments above. |

Just my $.02 after having purchased and been issued M2 and M4s optics is: just get a PRO and save the extra cash. 2MOA on both and the battery life on the PRO is way high now. My new PRO has the M4 size adjustment points too.
The old M2 (and now PRO) was just fine in size and durability and allows many mount options if desired. The M2s I used had 4moa dots and the M4 made aiming better with the smaller 2moa dot. The M4 is just big and it really does not need to be so bulky. |
