Hi guys. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have an Aimpoint Comp-M which is missing the battery cap. This is not the M2, ML2, or M3, but the now-discontinued original Comp-M.

I ordered both OEM Aimpoint battery caps (Aimpoint part nos. 10631 and 10634) and neither fit. It appears that the threads on both of these caps are a finer pitch than what is on the sight.

This is disconcerting. Numerous internet searches have not revealed a source for a Comp-M battery cap, new or used.

I sure would like to use this sight. Any insight anyone can give me?

Many thanks.

Ben

Well, this saga is over, and I am truly impressed by the generosity of ARFCOM members, as well as Aimpoint's customer service.

First, pubboy very generously sent me an extra battery cap he had. Unfortunately, however, it did not fit, and I sent it back to him. Many thanks to pubboy for his willingness to help a stranger.

Then I contacted Aimpoint. I talked to John and he sent me out a Comp-M battery cap via UPS free of charge. Wow. In part to recognize such fantastic customer service, I ordered a T-1 and LaRue mount this week. Now, I have a working Comp-M, a T-1 on its way to my doorstep, and a couple extra battery caps - one for the CompML series and one for the 7000/9000 series - see the above post for the part numbers. Anybody want/need them? Drop me a line via PM or at bhiggins25ATgmail.com and they're yours for free.
