We got a bunch of DRMO Military Aimpoints Comp M/M2's and unfortunately about half of them don't have the dual battery bushing in the double battery compartment so they are basically dead.

Aimpoint doesn't make them any more (all end of lifed) and optics planet is the only place I can find anything that'll work. They want 40$ for the double cap or 10$ for the single, and I can't find the bushing. They only have one double cap and 5 singles, and my partner is telling me the single cap won't work either.

The bushing is item #5 in the diagram.

Anyone have any extras they want to get rid of? Any pointers on where to locate?

TIA.

I'm seeing a ton of these come up on DRMO lately. We have been utterly unsuccessful locating the bushing or single battery caps. We came up with a good workaround that seems like it will work. We have not extensively tested it yet, but I will update as things go along.

The unit powers itself by N cell batteries. The aimpoint has the positive connection on the body of itself and leaf springs contact the side of the battery to complete the circuit. All the spacer does is ensure the battery is pushed against the contacts.

So ... we constructed a replacement spacer that is the size of a battery and the spacer. I measured it out as being 12mm in length. I went to Home Despot and found they sell 3/8" dowel rod in 4 foot sections for about 5 bucks. We hacked up a few of these 12mm pieces and put it in the unit, and it fully screwed down and operated correctly. My next plan is to take it out and test it under recoil to ensure the spacer is putting enough tension on the battery to maintain the connection.

We are thinking we may throw a dab of glue to hold it in the cap and I'm curious as to if weather and/or moisture will adversely affect it. It would be nicer to make this out of plastic, but this was the easiest solution.
