I received my Aimpoint ML3 ordered from SWFA last week.  Nice and rock solid sight!  As I read the instructions and installed it I noted that I was not able to see the red dot untill the 4th click (even in complete darkness).  It clearly have printed on the left side CompML3 2MOA 11416#964289 but responds to the specifications stated for the M3 on the manual.  Probably assembly confusion at the plant...

The sight its already mounted and I like it, have no intentions of returning it, but I want to be sure I'm not loosing an advantage in the 9 vs 6 daylight settings.  Also I believe battery life its still longer on the M3 model (please correct me if Im wrong).

So if any of you guys who have experience with the two models may enlight this noob...

Any comments will be appreciated.

My M3 2moa and my ML3 4moa are so close to being the same that if  the markings were covered I probably could not tell one from the other.  I called Aimpoint about this and was told to send the ML3 back.  I decided against that as it performs just like the more expensive M3.  The brightness settings are not visible on either one until the 4th position in total darkness.  In a well lit or daylight environment you can not really see the dot until the 6th position.  Aimpoint would fix any problem you don't like.  The battery life on either is stated at 50,000 hrs. that is over 5 years.

Still like my ML3 althoug I have no use for the first to fourth settings.  Billy, just wondering, have you tried your ML3 with a nightvision device?

I also have a M2 and I barely see the dot at the 5th setting
in a dimly lit room . What is with the first four settings NV?
Thanks
