I just purchased my first Aimpoint (already own a TA31 and Reflex II).

Is it normal for the inside of the tube to glow when the intensity setting is 7 or higher? Or did I get a lemon? At the end of the optic, three circles of thin rings appear as well as the tube glowing.

This occurs in bright or dark lighting conditions, and is very distracting.

I have a M2 and mine does the same thing. I think that is normal.

I don't have much run time with an Aimpoint as I use EOTech, but I'd think that you might have it too bright for the lighting conditions.

ETA: upon rereading I see that it happens in bright light as well. Oh well, I don't have a clue.

Just got back from the range. After sighting in (bright sunlight), didn't see any glow artifacts on setting 7. Saw a little glowing when the sun went down.

On another note, sighting in sucks in 20-30 mph winds. So much for my new contacts.
