I have an AR15 A2 Carbine.  I am thinking about getting an Aimpoint M2 or ML2.  I want to mount it on top of the handle on my AR and still be able to use the barrel sites aswell.

What mount do i need?

thanks...

If you are set on mounting on top of the handle....go with an ARMS #2 base with an Aimpoint 30mm x-wide ring.  This is about the most simple (and least expensive) route you can go.  Visit the guys at mstn.biz , they have all the Aimpoint accessories you should need.

ARMS build a mount(16a)with the Aimpoint ring bolt right into it. a bit lower profile.

Fulton armory has it on their web site.

It is under the AR15 section, in the Aimpoint page.

Cool....

I already have an ARMS #2 mount.

Is that 30mm mount a "quick release" mount?

if that is the case, the you should do the LDAguy's suggestion.

The Aimpoint X-wide mount in picatinny style will bolt right on to your ARMS#2.  try www.swfa.com for the Aimpoint ring, it is about 25 dollars.
