I will be purchasing a flattop AR, probably with a 16 inch barrel.

Will have front sight post and flip up rear sights or the RRA UTE2 deal (which I understand has the rear iron sights built in.)

I intend to mount an Aimpoint ml2 or ml3. Will I have to buy a quadrail handguard or is their sufficient room on the flattop to mount the Aimpoint sufficiently far forward to permit engaging targets with both eyes open.

The UTE2 receivers are a bad idea. If you have not purchased the weapon yet DON'T! Stick with a standard falttop upper (gives you more versatility).
