Ok everyone; M4 Bushmaster Aimpoint Comp ML2 LaRue Tactical M68 I sent the upper to ADCO about 2 months ago, to have a bayonet unknowning soddered on and have an awsome Phantom 5C1 attached. Since then, my Aimpoint has required me to sight in the sight each and every time I visit the range. As you can expect its very boring to spend about 15 minutes sighting the system in and I am sure its hard on the adjustment knobs. I am very upset as I do not even remove the LaRue Mount. I used to remove the mount and then the gun wouldn't hold zero so I blamed me removing the mount. But now I do not remove the mount and it still won't hold its zero. Does anyone know what the problem may be? Someone at the range looked at my sight and mount and said I did it correctly, and said he has never heard of an Aimpoint not keeping zero while in a mount of this quality. I am VERY dissapointed as the mount and aimpoint cost me $490, thats alot when your only 16 and rely on a paycheck from McDonalds. I really want to solve this, because I went to a field to do some groundhog hunting for a farmer and missed all of the 9 shots I fired, then had to tell the old man that I would be out tommorrow with my 7mm-08. It was pretty embarassing to say the least. If anyone has any idea of what to do please relpy. Thanks! |
Just so I am following, the Aimpoint held zero on this same AR BEFORE you had some work done? C4 |
Roger. Any friends with guns? If not then I would contact ADCO and explain your problem. If you live near them, let them test fire your AR and Aimpoint. C4 |
No. It is secured very firmly on the rail. |
OK then its either the gun, the Aimpoint or you. |
Well if the Aimpoint held zero before you had work done to the weapon and now doesn't point the finger at the Aimpoint of the mount. I recently had an LMT 16" upper that wouldn't hold zero. Thought it was the optic, but it turned out to be the upper. C4 |
Does the POI shift with your BUIS too? Or just the aimpoint? |
If it does, then I'd wager that the barrel might be loose. Let us know what turns up. |
| I just installed my CompM2 in the LaRue mount as per the directions last Sunday. My mount came loose in the first day of a 3-day carbine course when the top two screws backed out. I torqued on 'em and they haven't come loose again, but the rings do have a bit of a gap between them at the top. Is this normal? |
Yes the gap is normal. Did you use the loctite they provided? also did you clean the oil off the screws before using the loctite? |
