| I'm getting together the remaining parts needed for a M4gery/KISS build and I'm having trouble picking which optic. The PRO has more of the accurate look and a way better price point, but that Micro is alot lighter and just looks so damn sexy. Any opinions on which I should go with and why? |
| I have the Pro and it's great, especially for the money +/- $400. I have a Sigg version of the Micro and don't like it as well. They both work OK, but the PRO is more heavy duty IMO and looks like it will last longer. The Micro lookls like it will get knocked off the rifle the first time it gets banged into something. |

I don't think you've been around here very much. The T-1 is just as heavy duty as any of the COMPs or PRO. The SIG is just a China special. There was a video circulating around of the T-1 being dropped from a helo and it functioned fine afterwards. |

My T1 kicks butt and is super light.
Base it on your budget is my recc. If 400 is your max budget for a RDS and a mount, the Pro with factory mount is best you are going to find for that IMO. If you prefer the EoTech reticle vs. a single dot, view what that money will get you in their line. I love the EoTech reticle and screen vs. tube, but the battery life, always on ability, and durability of Aimpoint gives them a slight edge. I have a 552 AND a Mirco, I don't work for either company. If your budget is large enough for a Micro and your choice of mount, I believe it is worth the difference. I would NOT pay twice as much for a Mirco over a Pro, I would pay half again as much for one if it was in the build budget. |
| I have a Eotech XPS3-0 with the magnifier and its rad. The reticle is awesome and overall both pieces are built like a tank. I also have a Burris AR-332 and it seems plenty heavy duty as well, although its bulky. Im pretty set on the Aimpoint route for this build. I have the budget for either one, just trying to come to a conclusion. The lightweight and size of the micro is a huge benefit, but I havent found one for less than ~650. Im just having a hard time spending 650 on a micro when I can get the PRO and a LaRue LT-150 mount for 500-550? |
| Another option would be to find a used ML2 or M2 with mount for $375 and call it good, no reason to purchase a new one at retail price. All the current Aimpoints are exceptionaly rugged, but don't get fooled in to thinking you need something that will survive a toss from a helicopter, the longest distance it will ever fall on you is 3-4ft. |

I own both the T1 and the PRO.
I think it's preference really. They are both great sights that will give you reliability and durability. They both have battery life in the years. T1 is a little longer. But if you went the Comp m2 route you would get equal battery life of 5? years. The Pro is a copy of the comp m2 with a 2 moa dot instead of a 4 moa dot. I think the 30mm tube sights look better on AR's. But that's just my opinion. Now if you were going to run a magnifier behind the aimpoint I would suggest the T1/H1 series for weight issues. Just my 2 cents |
|
The T1 is certainly lighter... if it were going on the slide of a pistol, weight is really a factor, affecting the speed of the slide. If you hump the rifle a lot, the weight is a factor, if you're shooting from a bench, not so much. Of the two, I would go with the PRO. With the included mount, the price can't be beat. I'm an EOTech guy, and I want a PRO. Mark H. |

I love my T-1. That said, my next rifle (an M4 clone-esque rifle) will get a PRO basically due to price difference. There are BNIB PROs on the EE for $375 shipped. The closest you can really find T-1s used for are $600. That can be substantial for many people.
The T-1 is the superior optic hands down, but size and weight aside, the PRO will be a rugged and do everything the T1 will. |
| Thanks all, I think the more I look at it the more Im leaning towards a pro. As much as I like the T-1 I just dont think the price is warranted for no real difference. Worst case I get the PRO now and then when I get around to the T-1 I can move the pro to the other AR and replace the Burris. I appreciate all the input |

Like $520, with no mount, yo Even with a cheap DD mount you hit $590
It should have said "about $600 used". |

What do you all think of the EO tech XPS 2-0 I've owned a comp m2 and vortex Sparc..but after trying a 512 I love that thing . I can deal with the lack of battery life any other reason not to get one? Overall is it tough is that the one with the lower 1/3 cowitness? |
