I have decided to get an Aimpoint for my rifle...but which one? and why?

I have 2 C3's.

I have no plans for punching out of a sub anytime soon.

I have a ML3 I got for a good price at Cabela's and couldn't pass it up.  Didn't take much to get it zeroed.  I highly recommend it.

Im still useing my ML2 its around 8 years old now .  Never any problems

If I was to buy another it would be the compact model

Cant go wrong with any aimpoint!

The C3 has everything just about every member on this forum needs.  The rest of them are for tacticool bragging rights and "here are pics of my rifle tell me how awesome I am" threads.

The C3 will give you the same battery life as the ML3 (better than the ML2), minus some of the waterproofing level.  If you don't really need that kind of water resistance, the C3 is probably the best overall value.

Don't make me have to post a pic of my rifle, because you will be forced to tell me how awesome it is

Unless you will be using night vision equipment and diving lower than 5 meters for extended periods the C3 is the best bang for the buck...

ETA - Looks like I'm preaching to the choir!

Comp C3 unless you will be using night vision with it or scuba diving with it.

(most of us don't shoot with NVD or underwater)

Why?

1.  Less expensive than the others

2.  Works just as well as the others

3.  When you get the Comp C3 kit, you also get the rubber armor, ring, flip up lens covers AND the kit is less expensive that just the plain Comp C3 by itself.

QED!

I didn't see anyone ask what you are using it for.
I think the ML2 and the C3 aren't that much cheaper than the ML3.  I got my ML3 from SWFA and they were great.  I use it for LE so I wanted to be a bit more confident in the ruggedness.

For normal use (plinking, home defense, etc) without the need for NV or 15' or deeper dives I'd go C3...
M3  $540
ML3 $485
C3  $400 (kit with rubber cover and lens covers)
*prices from SWFA website
