I just got an Aimpopint ML2 for my AR, is the red dot suppose to be a circular dot, to me it looks like an irrregular shaped cancerous mole. Does this bother any Aimpoint users. I have not mounted it yet. Thanks, Perry |

I figured out the problem it was the way I was focusing or perceiving the dot. I focused more on the target than the dot and the dot was very crisp dot. Any new people that buy the Aimpoint M try out different focusing, one eye and two eye focusing. This info could save you a headache, I thought mine was defective. Another thing, if it would be defective just roll the optic on its axis if the line or blur moves with it then its defective, if not its your perception,, I got this info on Aimpoints website. Thanks, Perry |
| I don't have much experience with Aimpoints other than looking through one a couple times, but I have an EOTech and my 1 moa dot looks irregular if I really focus on it. If I use the sight how I am supposed to, focus on the target, it appears perfectly round to me. |
This is my first red dot so, I really didn't know focusing on the dot would cause that much distortion. Now that I am focusing on the background, I think that red dot looks sweet. Researcher, one other comment about Aimpoint, do you agree those springs that flip up the covers are cheaply made for a scope of that price, I think, I bent the front cover spring, it won't move that far when I pop it open. You or anyone else break those little springs? |
I don't have enough experience with them to know, sorry. |
Yeah, I have broken my caps two times each. Each time, I sent the front cap unit in and they sent a new one back. I also had to do this with the rear. Sucks, but elventually I just got fed up and set my caps so that they flip down not up. Gravity keeps them down, instead of the broken springs. |
Quite likely you have a small amount of astigmatism, that the glasses correct, but unless you have the toric contacts, they won't correct it. ![]() Lonny |
