I have an Aimpoint LRP on one of my micros (in before should've bought a Larue). I was taking the sight off the gun and dropped the sight and mount about 3 feet onto a tile floor. The clamping surface on the stationary side of the mount deformed and bent in at the end. I understand this is a direct result of my abuse, but I was a little disappointed. Before i proceeded to file down the mount where it had bent in, I decided to send an email to Aimpoint. I explained the circumstances, attached a picture, and asked if they could provide any insight.

The original email was sent on 4/6, I sent a follow-up on 4-12, and am posting this on 4/14 having heard nothing.  Admittedly, I was hoping to hear something along the lines of "send it in and we'll fix it," but I'd rather a "we're sorry there's nothing we can do,"  than no response at all.

Typical or atypical based on experiences?

Yes, it's a small deformity but will prevent the mount from mating with the rail properly unless fixed. Pic (see bottom-left):

Thanks, I'll call on Monday. I figured an email was best for this since I could attach the picture.

You damaged it and you want them to fix it as warranty? Just because it was expensive doesn't mean it's magic.

Fwiw, I have only been able to contact Aimpoint via their Facebook page. Phone and email were useless.

I called to see if I could get my m4 repaired after a battery leaked inside it, I was given an RMA and told I should hear back in 4 weeks. Just five days later ups showed up with a brand new one.

How dare they treat customers so go

If that was meant for me, apples and oranges.

Did you even read the OP? He specifically acknowledged that it was his fault and he didn't expect them to fix it, he just wanted a response to the email.
