I've got a TROS 5" 3 lug barrel going under a carbine length YHM 4 rail tube on my 9mm SBR.  It will be a bit until I can get a 9mm can to go on there.  What alternatives do I have in the meantime for a 3 lug barrel attachment?

HK 3-lug flash suppressor for MP-5 ($$ if you can find one)

I've seen thread to 3 lug adapters.  Is there something that goes the other direction?

Is that what is on this upper?

What a coincidence.  I just bought a TROS bbl off the EE.  I searched around a bit for an Hk 3 lug flashider.  LMO has new Hk 3 lug flash hiders for $58.

I placed my order on Sunday with 2 day shipping, just showed up today (Wednesday).

ETA:  Sitting on my desktop

And this guy's AR was my inspiration.  It just made me all tingly inside.

That's not going to work on a 5" barrel under a carbine handguard.

Looks like it'll work to me, Cleatus!

Why not?  That pic that TopCrest has up is what I was basing my plan on.

Though I think I'd go with this handguard were I running the 5" bbl.

It will work with those shorter handguards, not on a carbine length handguard.  The barrel won't stick out from under a carbine handguard.  That's fine for a long suppressor but I don't see how it would work with that flash hider.

What handguard is on that Title II upper?  Looks like a YHM.

It's a YHM but they call it "The Mini".  It's 4.15", a carbine length is 7.2"

Your options right now with a 5" TROS 3 lug are silencer or not.  If you have the CAR length handguard, it sticks out about 3" passed the end of the tros barrel.  There are 3 lug flash hiders but none that I know of are that long.  You need about 4-5 inches to be able to turn it onto the lug.

Look at this picture...about half way back on the handguard you can see where the silencer attached to the end of the barrel.

Are there any fake 3 lug 9mm suppressors around?

That I have no idea about.  I have ~ $700 in the silencer and coupler(SWR Trident 9)  Plus the stamp will have about $900 in it.  I was going to build the SBR 9mm and use a 10.5 normal barrel untul I could afford the "SD look" with the TROS etc....  I decided just to do it all the way I want from the start.  I put another SBR build on hold to get it done.  Meaning I have a registered receiver for that project and no upper.
