Hey guys. I just assembled my 300 Blackout suppressed (upper was already built from Factory) and I took it out to shoot it a few times and I had a couple of feed issues I attributed it to the Magpul 40 round magazines I was using. But once I got the magazines down to around 30 rounds they started feeding fine. The problem is, I noticed a couple with scraps on the brass. The ammo fed and fired, just not sure what was causing it. This was the last round I ejected, none spent, to capture the scrape. Any ideas on the cause?

I've never seen anything like this... looks BAD. dents and dings in brass are common but a gouge much less one as deep as in your picture is crazy. How many cases have this? if read you post correctly, the case in the picture is a live round you manually ejected? I just can't think of a way brass could be damaged like this during firing much less manual ejection...

More info and pictures may help us help you.

Use different mags.

That is a new one. How does the chamber look? Are there any noticeable burs or nicks? My best guess is that there may be something in the chamber that's really digging into the brass once the round is fired and the case expands to grab it even more.

It's kind of hard to tell by the blurry photo, but it kind of looks like the peeled brass (if that's what's happening) is during the extraction. I'd try different mags too for the feeding issues, but I can't see any polymer mag causing that.

If the chamber looks fine I'd take a good look at the feed ramps and bolt carrier if it's somehow gouging the top round in the mag.
