I recently bought my first AR. the guy who sold it to me included about 50 rds of winchester .223. I cannot tell what grain it Is and I don't have a scal
it appears (to me) to be a hpbt, and it is only about .010" shorter than a green tip My first thought was wwb 45gr varmint but the length makes me think otherwise. Any input Is appreciated. Thanks. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/p480x480/1174954_621757244523928_1013824090_n.jpg (left to right) M855, Win ?, WPA 55g, PPU 193 |

Thanks for the link. Judging from the diagrams on that site I'm thinking its a match bullet. None of the other hollow point type bullets seem to have boat tails.
I stuck a sewing pin into the hp cavity and it seems wider and more shallow than the hole in the 95% copper one you linked to. I am going to the range on saturday to finish dialing in at 300. Assuming i get my zero early enough, I will be trying some groups with these mystery rounds to see how the poi compares to M855. I guess that wont tell me what weight they are, but at least I'll know where they hit . Thanks . |
