Anyone else notice how a lot of ammo has gone up in people's opinion since USGI has become so scarce & costly?

I can remember people dissing on Radway & Guatemala years ago. I would love to find some of that now.
Even the rejected "PD" is looking pretty good right now.

Right now price is my main concern when ammo shopping, as seems to be everyone else's. I will still not buy any indian .308 though, no matter how cheap it is.

Just go Wolf & don't look back...

The only 'dangerous' ammo I've heard of is the Indian .308...

I haven't bought any non-Russian ammo since the Port M-60 belts went bye-bye...

I haven't bought any non-Russian .223 since the days of the SA battle-packs...

I don't know - I've been maintaining the ammo reviews, and I really haven't seen a dramatic shift in overall ratings over the last few years to be honest. On the other hand - people might still vote "it gives me problems", but now 3-4 MOA is acceptable to them for half the price of other ammo, whereas before they'd only buy "better" ammo.

It does seem as if ammo that people would turn their noses up at  a year or two ago is now more worthy of consideration.

A classic case in point that is similar, is Chinese 7.62x39mm ammo. Back in 1986 when I bought my first AK, the Chinese AK's were considered junk, as was the ammo. All through the 80's and 90's, the Chinese ammo was looked down upon as inaccurate, steel cased crap and no one cared if it had a steel core or lead. But now look at it. People pay a premium for steel core and somehow the Chinese stuff is now some of the best 7.62x39mm you can buy if you are lucky enough to find any. It never was bad, and it still is not great, but the perception has changed because it is not plentiful and cheap any more.

RADWAY is not downloaded...It is charged with slower burning powder, lower pressure curve...with oversize port its not a problem, mil spec port can cause feed problems

Not just the steel core stuff, but any Chinese 7.62x39mm, lead core included.

There was an Army Safty Bulletin back in 2003/04. I was in Iraq, actually we were in Kuwait doing soem trining before oging incountry. Nyway, one fo our soldeirs had a failure with an M4. Not the radway Green 5.56 fualt. I was appointed 15-6 Investigating officer and in doing the investigation I found out that there was an advisory. teh gist of the advisory was not to use Radway Green in M4's. They short cycled.   Well, in typical Army fashion, no one at Buering knew of this and Radway was issued all over the place.  We had M4's and none of the sodleirs in our battalion had any issues with short cycling. But as soon as we got in coutry I and all my guys got rid of that for M855. No point taking a chance.
Anyway, thats where the  issue with Radway came form. It all has to do witht he pressure curve/port pressure of the ammo that was originally developed for the SA80.
