Hey guys I am new here and have a few questions.  They probably have been answered here before but I could not find it.
1.  Is there a big difference in the many different manufactures of receivers?
2. Is a gas piston system better than a gas system?
3. Will a piston system with with the 300 blk?
Thanks guys, I will have more but can't them of them now.
Thanks!

Main thing with receivers, as far as lowers go, is finding one that you like the manufacture's logo on as well as the price. A regular gas impingement system will suit you just fine. I don't have any experience first hand with gas piston systems and 300 blk but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work, but again mot really necessary as a DI system works just fine.

Just my opinion, of course, but yes there is a significant difference among the various brands of receivers, esp the uppers.  Its OK to buy milspec forged receivers, but I recommend you stick to name brands like Mega, Seekins, Noveske or Rainier Arms.  Avoid the piston systems, unless you have your heart set on one.  They are not worth the extra weight and expense, DI works just fine.  The dirtiest part of my rifle after a shooting session, it seems, is the chamber and that part of an AR still gets dirty regardless of the operating system.  Yes, a piston set up will work just fine with the .300 Blackout.  Good luck - CW
