I was at closeout store on my lunch hour today and found Loctite brand "White Hi-Temp Anti-Seize" . I figured for 3 bucks for a 1lb can what the heck. Thoughts on using it for barrel nuts?

Well,

Loctite Website

That sounds pretty fair to me.

Also, my Mobil Industrial Grease booklet reads white lithium grease as being good for high speed applications with good water and wear protection.  All white greases listed here are good for high temps.  Obviously not the same manufacturer, so take the comments with a grain or two of salt.  Hope this helped a bit.

I don't remember the particulars, but I've heard that some people use never sieze.  The key is to make sure that it's chemically compatible for aluminum.  I'd say the same thing for your grease.  If it's ok for aluminum I'd say you're good.
