Are there any problems with running a 9MM upper with ramped bolt on a dedicated receiver M16?

The only problem I ever had was an ejection issue - after tweaking the ejector it went away.

Also, keeping it fed. Hungry lil' bastids!
In all seriousness, if you're talking a full auto M16 lower, I'd be worried the 9mm would beat up that lower.

Agreed. Although I'm normally not a fan I'd probably be looking at some FCG saving parts like KNS pins.

Then again I don't own a MG so I don't have to worry about these things...

I had to bend this one in about .050

Thanks-I was/am worried about egging my receiver with a 9MM upper. I have a Geissele trigger which recommends against the KNS pins.

I don't understand this recommendation. Why does the company advise against the use of a product that keeps the pins from moving? Are the Geissele pins somehow designed to not move or spin? Serious question.

I think it's not that they don't recommend the KNS pins, they feel their hardened SS pins are superior to KNS pins when using a Geissele trigger.

That's basically it but they do recommend against them. They say they are too soft and prone to breaking.

Yep full auto so it does concern me after doing some more reading. A shame because I have a 7.5" 9MM upper that I can't use on my SBR because of MD's stupid new laws. SBR has to be min 20" OAL. The M16 would be exempt.
