Now I have 3 of them. A 20" bolt action AR in 450BM, a 16" AR and a 10.5" SBR 20" originally was a RF upper but came with a rifle gas system(mine was an early one and apparently RF went to mid or carbine later on 20" uppers) and just could never get it to strip the next round. Would eject, but that was it. Was a deer rifle so didnt bother me much. BCA came out with the bolt action uppers in 450 so I grabbed one and replaced the semi auto upper with it. Also took the RF panzer brake off for the 16" and replaced it with a tank brake (they will love this at a local gun store with an indoor range that allows large cal rifles). The Bushnell scope is probably going bye bye. 16" is built off the old RF semi auto upper. MI handguard and the panzer muzzle brake is from the 20" upper. PSA lower & parts kit. A LPVO is on the way for it. SBR is a 10.5" BCA upper on an Aero lower. This one cycles fine. Recoil isnt bad even without a brake. Still loud as fuck.

I have a 16” Bushy that I got around ‘08 or ‘09 and deer hunted with it several years before going to the 6.8 SPC. Killed several deer with it. Last year our state allowed straight wall rounds in any platform besides semi auto to be used during what was up until then the mz season. Last year they renamed it “Alternative Weapons” season. I bought a CVA single shot and killed a nice buck with it. |

Here's my collection. They share a Hybrid 46 on a YHM SRX mount. 16" bolt action AR:  " />I have a 12" barrel on the way. The bolt action upper will get the 12" barrel, and I'm putting this 16" barrel on a side charging upper. 16" bolt action Mauser:  " /> " /> " /> " />I need to figure out a sighting solution. I misspoke above. I ordered a 10.5" barrel, not 12.5. It arrived today, and I built the upper. I'm not pleased with the handguard. It's far too heavy and bulky. I'm going to put a simple aluminum tube Hogue handguard on it tomorrow. It's a sweet little shooter. An absolute thumper.  " />

Might have to look into that Bolt Action upper! I have a Bear Creek AR upper, and yeah, while it was nice and cheap, it won't cycle factory Hornady Black Ammo. I can get it to cycle with handloads, but they are Hot. I should have sent it back to have the gas port opened up, but it was during the pandemic, and I mainly wanted a new cartridge to handload for, so... I keep eyeing like a Ruger American in .450 (mainly so I can load some Big Long 400 gr bullets, and maybe get it suppressed), so...that bolt action upper...Hmmmm |

I have one of those on my old 3-Gun rifle (Rifle length on an 18"bbl, with rifle gas, as was the style at the time). It is indeed heavy, but that worked well on the race gun, soaked up some recoil, made it feel like shooting a 22. Did make it a bit harder to do fast transistions with the weight, but...compromises I guess! |

Now I transferred it over to a gun I built specifically to FRT tracer rounds on holidays. I'll post a pic of that one in a bit. |
