Anyone Chop Their .308 AP4 BBL?

I keep longing for a 13-14 inch barrel with a permanent flash hider, to go along with my 30 round DPMS .308 mags that no-one makes

What's stopping me is the cost of new, used AP4 uppers, DPMS will void your warranty, and I don't want to mess with it's greast accuracy by a shoddy chop job...

Get it re contoured under the handguards too.  Most people agree shortest practical 308 length is 18", so you are already under that.  There are some people doing 308 SBRs, there are a couple threads on that out there.  I think a 13.7" barrel with a Noveske KX3 would be a fun toy.

My AP4 is at the gunsmith as I write this. The barrel is being cut to 10.25". Overal barrel length with AAC QD flash suppressor is 12.5". We still expect + or - 2200FPS.

I'll let you know how it works out.

Me I just want my bbl's chopped to the legal limit w/perm flash but wow, that is aggresive!
