I'm doing my first build.
Have a RRA upper and lower.
The finish is flawless on these things.  The only thing is the finish is very dull, looks like just flat black paint, but it's flawless.
Will a good coat of oil bring it out a little better?

Mine looked that way when they were new. After I finished assembly I gave everything a good rub down with CLP which showed the quality of the RRA finish.

It wont shine but the CLP gets ride of that kinda powdery look which they have new.

I decided to buy a RRA lower, yes the lower was powdery I used a bushmaster upper and barrel assembly found the lower and the upper needed to be fitted, I took the edges of the rear lug on the upper and the fit is awsome!

Will any sort of CLP work well?

I just completed my lower RRA lower build and mated it to a RRA upper M4 style flattop.  Everything fits like a glove.  The finish matches both upper & lower.

RRA wasn't kidding when it said the rear lug will be a tight fit into the lower.  I think the fit is better than my Colt HBar.
