You will quickly learn what people like and don't like, what does/n't work, etc. and if you run into trouble, someone will be here. |

What will be the purpose of the AR? That can bring down the possibilities to a closer find of what you want.
Check this out and it'll help you with the mumbo jumbo everyone speaks here. I personally like the S&W M&P15. Others are going to say LaRue, Bushy, Colt, Bravo Company, DPMs, and RRA, just to name a few. ETA: Welcome to the site. |

| you are on the best place for an 'AR for dummies' education. A couple of people provided links so check those out. If you see an acronym that you don't recognize search it on the site, google it and/or ask in the thread where you saw it what it means. People here are helpful as long as you are trying to do your due dilligence and you don't start topics that could have easily been answered by another topic had you used the search function. Brownell's has a good resource for videos so that you can learn the ins and outs of the gun. I am not a fan of buying much from them because they are typically expensive but to each their own. This IS AR for dummies!!! I should know, I'm one of the newest dummies!!!
September '09 bought my first Glock. While at the gun shop, I noticed a black rifle on the wall. Surfed the internet and CALGUNS..NET and they all said go to AR15.COM which I did in October and started my research. Now in the middle of my first build with the rest of my parts due Monday and/or Tuesday to finish. Cannot wait to test and sight at the range!!! Also looking forward to our second build for my son. AR15.COM taught me EVERYTHING I know about this awesome platform. Operation, function, quality, assembly, manufacturers, options, testing, legal and new friendships can all be found right here. I have become an EPL member of the NRA and a member of AR15.COM. I am also currently seeking more information about the politacal figures that make up California's government to help make a change for the betternment of my state.
