I am thinking about adding a set of GunTech Bridged Quad Rails to my budget PSA FREEDOM build.  Just curious if they are decent?  I don't plan on mounting anything other than maybe a light and VFG so they don't need to much better than the $10 CAR style hand guards!  I actually like the look of the oval slots!  So what do you guys think?

If you don't need all of the rails then why  buy a quad rail?  They are less comfortable to hold and typically weigh more... plus you need to cover the rails with something like ladders or panels so you spend more money.   How about a Magpul http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG440/184 hand guard and a section of rail?  More comfortable to hold, lighter and cheaper.  You can always buy rails to attach to standard carbine hand guard if it is just about adding a light.  If it is just about how it looks then buy whatever tacticool hand guard that pleases you.  You made it clear you are trying to buy something cheap...Magpul will get you the most bang for the buck.

Agreed!  I like Magpul MOE but I currently have a carbine and a rifle length decked out in MOE...I am really just looking for something different but...cheap!  Handguards are also easy to upgrade as budget increases so I guess it really doesn't matter too much what goes on.  If I don't like it, I can upgrade later on!

If you don't like the Magpul hand guards maybe you'd like AB arms ones you can add rails to it as well

Don't know anything about Guntech

But Midwest Industries make some good, fairly cheap, drop in rails.
