Hi everybody, today I received a lovely package containing a Daniel Defense Barrel as well as a midlength armalite handguard and a round handguard cap. Rifle isn't complete so I was playing around wih it today and noticed that there seems to be no way that the handguard end will fit into the cap, pictures below.

that's the handguard front end itself

and here is the cap on the end, as you can see it doesn't fit. I thought there were only two types of caps, triangular and round. am I doing something wrong?

btw I am new to the forum as well as ar building, love the site but haven't posted before.

I cannot tell from you pictures, but there were some round handguards made, that fit the front metal triangular handguard piece so they would be a drop in replacement on a 20" rifle with a triangular handguard.

Many years ago, since I hated the triangular handguard, I put one of them on my issue rifle...
