I found them to be 100%UNRELIABLE. It would not even lock into my Armalite. My recomendation is to stay away from wind-up toys that wont work.

Won't lock into an Armalite- are you kidding me- at that price?!?!?!?!?!

Armatac offered to look into the mag for him, but he refused, if I recall that old thread correctly.

Others have reported no issues, fwiw.

They also wanted me to send my rifle to them, sorry but I just did not want it bad enough to help them with their design. I also did not feel comfortable sending them my rifle. For the same money you can get atleast 3 Beta-c mags and they have been reliable .These are the facts, Semper-Fi.

moreguns4me has some issues he needs to deal with.

I can't believe this guys keeps trying to talk bad after he refused the pickup from the fed-ex guy.  He continued after he was refunded.

If anybody ever has a problem with our products please contact us and we would be happy to fix it.

We are about to release our new product the SAW-MAG.  This is a hybrid design with high impact polymers and a hardened steel magazine tower.  We will support the aluminum CL-MAG but we will no longer be producing them, although they were a nice and high quality item, their manufacturing costs were very high.

We had to make a few changes to be fully compatible with the HK416 but were able to do so.(HK needs longer straight portion of magazine).  We also incorporated a resting pad, a viewport for round counter, the ability to remove the faceplate and dump debris without disarming the magazine, added debris channels in the mag column to help function in extremely adverse conditions, and a bunch of other aspects.  We should have these available for under 400$ in the first quarter of 2010.

The number of respondents is eerily similar to the number of people that think their price is realistic.....

I love the idea of an aluminum drum mag - enough to spend up to $400 on one.  If this more cost-effective version is just a scaled-up Beta mag, then I am not remotely interested at $400..................................but maybe some pics showing the benefits (besides lower production costs) could change my opinion.

I've had good luck with my preban Beta so I don't find myself spending a bunch of money for a Armatac.  I don't do a whole lot of dumps with the Beta due to ammo costs but if it ever goes belly up, I'd love to get a Armatac.

How about an Armatac in 9mm for a Colt system?  I have a Beta that is a piece of junk and have seen many cause jams at subgun matches.  A reliable 9mm drum would be hot.  I have a Vector 68 round drum for an Uzi that I notched for my M16 that has been working flawlessly but a larger capacity would be nice.

It actually sounds like Armatac tried to make it right but you want to win an Emmy for best victim.
If you feel that strongly why not take it to the bear pit?

I have been snowed in and bored so I took some photos, they are pretty bad.

I blotted out the only area that I didn't want to reveal at this time.

the photo showing the back cover is showing the round indicator, It indicates if full(White) Half Full(Black) Half Empty(BlackWhite Hatch Pattern)-for colorblind individuals

if there is someone on here who has a full auto lower, and has ever used a high capacity magazine(over 30 rds) a few times, I would be happy to try to get you one of the aluminum mags (CL-MAG), by the time I get it to you the SAW-MAG will be available.  Those will be more buyer friendly and you should see more of them.

How do I make these images appear smaller?

Appreciate the pics.  Hard to tell from a picture, but are these going to be made out of something less brittle than, say other companies' drum mags?  It almost looks more resiliant - but maybe that's just 'cause it isn't smooth and shiny....

We are using the best long glass available for this application, very high impact energy ratings.
With the wall thickness we went with it is going to be interesting to see what it takes it to actually break, finite element analysis is one thing, when things get drop tested it is a little different.  We spent a lot of time looking all over (the world) at the similar poly drum and its failure modes, then we spent the last 1.5 years re-designing the structure to house the drum mechanisms.  This is technically the 4th iteration of the polymer design(SAW-MAG), The Cl-Mag was something like the 6th iteration.  That means that we have spent a ton of time and funds and we wouldn't have done it had we not known what the product could actually do.

I took some friends out this week-end, after Christmas,  who have never shot an AR, this is what they looked like.  I tried to give pointers and so they did pretty well.
they kept bitching about the propellant smell.

*if you notice the gun at the end of the video is a little faster because the other shots had a "fat boy" gas tube that I was trying out.*
