So i have an old school A2 rifle and I want to sight it up, allready have an ACOG on one AR and an aimpoint on another, looking at an armson sight, any opinions on it from those of you that have used them?

I had one on one of my FNC's for years and loved it.  Not really a target sight, but I had no problems popping soda cans offhand out to about 75 yds.  The tritium gave out years ago and Trijicon won't refill it - needless to say I won't be buying any more Trijicons.

True at this time they are no re-loading the elements, but in a email exchange I had with them two months ago they said tht they realized there was interest and that they were looking into doing that. I like them. I will pay to have my reloaded when/if that becomes available. Even if they are depleted you can still use the fiberoptic portion of the sight.

so you can still use the sight even if the tritium runs out? that was a concern of mine

Fiber optic line in the nose of it still works as long as there is light out. The Tritium (sp?) is in line with it and starts glowing as the the available light dims.

Love the idea.
Like the design.
Built like a tank.

My experience is that it is hard to sight in for longer range target shooting but is adequate for CQB.
The windage and elevation adjustments have no clicks and are kind of hit or miss.

My tritium is still glowing after more than 10 years but I fear it will die soon.
Mine was made by Armson in England, but now they are a Trijicon item so I guess they will get the call when it dies.
The only rifle I ever used the OEG on is an AR180B.  It would be cool to try it on a *standard* AR sometime or mebbe a .22.

Mine looks like this one...there are a couple different styles.

Mine died after about 4 years.  Trijicon refused to refill it.

That is very nice of them, and it would have been even nicer if they had been willing to refill it years ago when it ran out.  I didn't buy my OEG to be a daytime-only sight - it was marketed and I purchased it as a battery-free red dot sight in the belief (backed up by Trijicon's statements) that they would refill the tritium when it depleted, and Trijicon failed to back up their end of the bargain.  I wound up giving mine to the buyer of my FNC, and I think he's since put it on his paintball gun where it's still performs a useful role.  Regardless of any hypothetical future change of heart (which I will believe when it happens), Trijicon has demonstrated that they are willing to turn their expensive sights into disposable items at their whim.  Fortunately I don't have to wait for anyone to "realize there is interest" in selling me a battery.

Yes, I'm bitter.

Years ago I used one with a Galil AR 5.56 and it was a superb soldier proof sight.
Some of the best shooting I've ever done was with this combo.
I also used it very effectively with an UZI, which had a very slick mounting system for it.
