[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Assembling an upper?

I am trying to find a complete upper in a specific configuration and am having little luck getting any guidance from manufacturers/vendors so I am thinking of just doing it myself from parts.

I wanna make sure I get everything I need.

Can somebody tell me if I'm missing anything?

Upper Receiver w/forward assist and port door
Bolt Carrier Group
Charging Handle
Barrel w/flash hider
Handguards

Any guidance on tools would be greatly appreciated as well too.

You'll also need a delta ring, snap ring, gas tube and roll pin, handguard retaining cap, and gas block if the barrel doesn't come with one.

Tools needed:

Vise
Action block
Armorer's wrench
Torque wrench

Punch set and hammer.

You will need a gas tube. Make sure you get the proper length. Read this page. The section "Changing your own AR15 barrel for dummies" will be helpful.
