I'm fairly new to ARs and even newer to slings so please bear with me.  I'm planning on getting the Vickers VCAS sling and was wondering how I would attach it to the R-4 handguard of my Rock River.  I don't want to attach it to the front sling loop, but at the end where the barrel nut is located.  Is there a sling adapter that doesn't require drilling a hole or can I just loop in around the handguard and tighten it up?  Thanks in advance.

Yes, the below product will loop around the barrel nut and secure the sling.  It also works in a variety of other applications.

It works quite well on a variety of weapon platforms.  I keep one in my gear bag when teaching courses so guys who are using lesser quality slings, or are lacking mounts can still run decent gear if they choose.

It opens up a lot of options.

Holy Hannah! What an idea. Keep one?some on hand for training for those guys that don't have slings mounted, and for that matter, we have a training group South of us that uses airsxxx guns for training, and they don't have sling swivels up front. This could be a heck of an idea.

Its a slick way to get something that will hold up to long term abuse and hard usage, and still have something that will remain a viable option for a variety of weapon sytems.

I've got a buddy in Group that I will probably give mine to as his team runs a wide variety of weapon systems when working with host nations.

Thanks, that's exactly what I'm looking for, simple but functional.
