I've finally decided on my first sling, I'm going with the VCAS.  Now I need to decide on mounting options.  My rifle has QD mounts already built into so I'm going to use those.  My question is in what fashion.  I could get the sling with the QD mounts sewn in.  I can attach the sling to a set of QD mounts.  Or I could attach the sling to HK or other mounts and then to QD mounts.  What have you guys experienced to be the better way to go?  I've never had a sling before so I'm starting from scratch.  Cost wise the sling plus QD is cheapest, sling w/qd sewn in $7 more, and the other would depend on what type of clips.

I have a couple slings with the QD mount. I enjoy it for precision rifle stuff or somewhere knowing I won't need to transition at an abrupt moment. The QD mounts are more of a fine motor skill to push and maneuver to another socket in a CQB type of situation. However, there is a company that is making a socket for the QD that you attach to your 2 point sling essentially making it a 1 point sling (similar to the Magpul MS slings). So...if your goal is to push the sling to its limits under CQB types of maneuvers I would go with something that suits that arena. I personally use a Magpul MS2 sling for patrol/CQB and a VCAS for my plinking gun and long range rifle. My .2 cents.

Here's the link to Impact Weapons Components "2 To 1 Point Triglide", with all the info about the components as well as a demo video.

The VCAS uses 1.25" webbing.
